The goldrush in the ongoing LFA/Orange 1st Division League continues after Round Eight with the first set of games in the New Year taking place on Thursday, 6 January.
There are five exclusive league games scheduled for Round 9 actions at separate venues across the nation with matches starting at the same time (15:30hrs GMT).
League leaders Freeport FC Matchweek 9 home game against Fourth-placed Nimba Kwado have been postponed to a further unannounced schedule due to a huge absence in Freeport’s squad because of the National County Meet.
Howbeit, Second-placed LISCR will be up against one of their biggest opponents Monrovia Club Breweries in a tough clash with the action taking place at the ATS in Central Town.
The Beer boys are expected to put up a huge fight in their quest to return to winning ways after bowing to a three-nil defeat in the hands of champions LPRC Oilers last week, a result which placed Club Breweries 7th on the table with 11 points.
In another encounter, title holders LPRC Oilers will be hosted at the North Star Stadium by relegation-threatened Nimba United.
The champions are obviously favorite to walk away with all three points in this contest owing to United’s current poor form. The Oil boys are up for a revenge after falling to a 2-0 defeat in their visit at the North Star Stadium the past season.
The Mountaineers are pretty seated at the lowermost part of the table (12th) on four points. They have lost six out of eight games this season managing a win, and a draw from other two.
The Oil boys are 5th with 11 points, 5 points away from the table.
Newly promoted Clubs Heaven Eleven and Invincible Eleven (I E) will go face to face in crucial Matchday happening at the E. B. Stadium in the Concession City of Yekepa.
Home side Heaven Eleven are keen to get back on winning ways after suffering a damning 3-0 defeat away to Sandi FC in their last outing.
Meanwhile, visitors I E are looking to extend their wins to two in two league games after securing a 3-2 victory over Nimba United last Matchday in their quest to escape the relegation zone.
The Gangra boys are 8th on the table with 9 points, whilst their visitors sit 10th on 7 points.
The Gold boys of Bea Mountain will be in action at home for the first time in the New Year against bottom side Club Sandi in Kinjor, Grand Cape Mount County.
Both sides are in a high morale ahead of the mouth-watering encounter after recording fine results from their respective Matchday eight fixtures.
The Gold boys collected a famous 3-1 away win against Watanga, whilst Sandi thrashed Heaven Eleven 3-0 at the Nancy B. Doe Stadium.
A win for home side Bea Mountain will fuel their chase for the league title. Sandi will also need a win and hope that Heaven Eleven or Mighty Barrolle can get a draw or loose their respective games to see them leave the demotion zone.
The Doris Williams Stadium in Buchanan will also be an arena of gruesome fight as 9th-placed Mighty Barrolle welcome Watanga FC midway in the standings.
Watanga will have to win as they look to close-up the top-four gap. A win is also needed by the Rollers to stay off the red zone.
