As the LFA Orange First Division league continues to move down its closing stage, every match-day is being considered crucial by the day.

This weekend will witness incredible actions across the country with 12 teams drawn in 6 fixtures. Match-day 18 will bring live sensational football display from different venues in Montserrado, Margibi and Grand Capemount Counties.

The championship battle is currently heating up between defending champions LPRC Oilers and Sanniquellie based Nimba Kwado as both teams are set apart by a point with the Oilers leading the table.

The National Port Authority Boys, NPA Anchors will open the day’s fixtures with a fierce matchup against Nimba United at the football examination hall of the Antoinette Tubman Stadium at 2:00 PM on Sunday, 18 April.

NPA who presently sit at Ninth on the table one step ahead of United will need a draw or win to maintain their stand.

As for Nimba United, a compulsory win is needed by them as they look eager to leave the relegation zone where they currently sit at 10th spot (18 points), 2 points behind NPA Anchors (20).

A win will put them (United) one point ahead of the NPA as they (NPA Anchors) will sink in the bottom three.

Watanga FC who are stationed at the 5th-place with 27 points from 17 games this season will draw up against Eighth-Placed Monrovia Club Breweries in a fashionable clash at the SKD Practice Pitch which was recently dedicated by former Lone Stars captain and Ballon d’Or winner, George Weah after being given a new facelift. Courtesy of a Project fully funded by world football governing body, FIFA and implemented by the Liberia Football Association (LFA).

The host Watanga form in recent time has been quite impressive as they have gone without a defeat in more than 5 straight league games. Club Beer nailed Watanga 1-0 in their first meeting during the first half of the season, one of their (Club Breweries) best win in the campaign.

LISCR FC which had an dominating 2-0 away win over relegation worried Nimba FC in Ganta back in February, will be hosting the Mountain Lions at the TUSA Field in Gardnersville Township at 4 PM on Sunday.

After losing to Bea Mountain last weekend, the Nimbaians will have to fight their way through with a win because a loss for will definitely confirm their relegation to the 2nd Division. At the same time, a win for the Shipping Boys of LISCR will push them much closer to the two primary title contenders, LPRC Oilers and Nimba Kwado.

LISCR are currently 3rd (with 30 points) on the log, 5 points adrift table leaders Oilers and 4 behind Second-placed Kwado. A win can possibly change the story atop the table.

With LPRC Oilers and Nimba Kwado presently standing as the possible prospective champions owing to their positions on the table, obviously much attention will be given to their respective fixtures.

Both sides face-off in a title deciding clash last Sunday in Sanniquellie and they shared the spoils at a scoreless draw.

On Sunday, Bea Mountain one of the sides in the Orange National League this season that is to lose to a Nimba County team will be playing host to Nimba Kwado at the Kinjor Stadium in Grand Capemount.

The Gold Boys collected a very significant one point from the Ton Pea Mea [Kwado] back in February at the Nimba County Stadium in Sanniquellie.

Bea Mountain gun-down Nimba FC one-nil last Sunday in Ganta.

Kwado are still without a win from their last two games, therefore a win is needed to keep their title hope alive with things appearing to be slipping off.

A win for them away to Bea Mountain tomorrow will definitely stimulate their quest for the championship glory this season.

Meanwhile, reigning champions LPRC Oilers after recording one win alongside a draw from their last two fixtures are obviously desperate for a win over Freeport FC this Sunday at the ATS at 16:00 (4:00 PM CET).

It can be recorded that the Oilers whipped Freeport 2 goals to nil earlier this campaign on Match-day 7 on February 3.

A win for the Oilers and their immediate challengers Nimba Kwado from their respective fixtures tomorrow will still keep the title holders one point over Kwado with 4 games in hand to climax the season.
