The Patriotic Entrepreneurs of Liberia (PATEL) has threatened to stage a protest at the Capitol Building over the government’s alleged failure to support and invest in Liberian businesses.
The business organization through its president Dominic Nimely told reporters on Wednesday that Liberian owned businesses have been downplayed over the years which “poses a serious threat on the economy.”
The advocacy organization at the same time gave the government of Liberia one month ultimatum to actualize the inclusive participation of Liberian business owners in the economy.
Mr. Nimely attributed the deplorable state of the country’s economy to the “legislature being insensitive to the plight of the Liberian people.”
He added that the one month ultimatum will be used to work on modalities with the government where necessary.
