It is often said, health is life and it’s a right, and if one must enjoy the happiness and pleasure of this life, he or she should be heathy.
In the instance of Liberia, many die from common health diseases because of the unavailability of appropriate medications at various health facilities across the country or sometimes cause by financial inabilities of ordinary Liberians to handle cost of treatment in these critical times of hardship that have struck the nation.
Efforts to help buttress government’s Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development essentially the health sector in addressing some of these countless health needs of the people, a Liberian professional Medical Doctor base in the United States of America who is also a humanitarian, and team during the last two weeks have been providing free medical services to patients with varieties of life-threatening health problems.
Patients with Eye-Problems and Stroke amongst other diseases, are sicknesses treated by the US base Liberian MD and team in Grand Bassa County, John F. Kennedy Medical Center and ELEA Hospital and Phebe Medical Hospital in Bong County respectively.
Dr. Lawrence Zumo, Medical Doctor is a neurologist in Silver Spring, Maryland and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Adventist Healthcare Washington Adventist Hospital and Doctors Community Hospital. He received his medical degree from University of Debrecen Medical and Health Science Center and has been in practice for more than 21 years now. Dr. Zumo accepts several types of health insurance.
A Neurologist diagnoses and treats disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscles, and the involuntary nervous system that controls the heart, lungs and other organs. They treat headaches, stroke, dementia, seizures, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, sleep disorders and neuromuscular diseases.

Dr. Zumo said the funding to purchase the medication to treat the sick and travel expensive, were provided out of the kind gesture of his wife Madam Janet Zumo who also is stepping into the shoes of her husband to serve humanity through saving lives.
The MD disclosed that a total of over 40,000 United States Dollars was allotted to facility this worthy cost.
These activities are not the first of its kind provided by Dr. Zumo. According to him, every year he embarks on these free medical services in the country to serve his people and show love for country, indicating that he’s returning to prepare another trip with medical supply for the country next year to treat the sick.
Meanwhile Dr. Zumo has announced the construction of a modern hospital in Liberia shortly.
He made the statement in Siahn Clan, Grand Bassa County, where he administered treatment for numbers of sick people in the area today.
