Phebe Doctor Jefferson Sibly Tested Positive for COVID-19

Phebe Hospital Medical Director Dr. Jefferson Sibly and seven health workers assigned at the hospital’s emergency room have been diagnosed positive of COVID-19.

The affected staff are currently under going treatment at the government-run 14-military hospital in Margibi.

Samuel Kpawiru, Director  Communication at the hospital made the disclosure to the media on Wednesday, June 24.

Mr. Kpawiru said due to COVID-19, the emergency room at the health facility has temporary being closed.

He at the same time used the medium to appeal to the Liberia government and partners to support the facility with medical supply including personal protective equipment (PPE) in order to prevent the spread of the virus to other healthcare workers.
Amidst rumors that the hospital is currently closed to the public, Mr. Kpawiru said it is untrue as Phebe remains opened to the public expect for the emergency center that is temporary closed for public safety.
