The Liberian National Police (LNP) said on Monday it has arrested and currently investigating a 34-year old man identified as Sampson Otis for allegedly raping a 15-year old girl in the Bong Mines community.
The 15 years old survivor is believed to be a member of suspect Otis’ church in the Bong Mines community.
Suspect Otis, who is said to be a Nigerian citizen and a pastor of the City of Mercy Church in Bong Mines was arrested due to a complaint filed against him by the survivor’s relative Ellen Deno.
According to a release from the LNP, the incident occurred on June 6, 2020, when suspect Otis allegedly raped the 15-year old minor.
Suspect Otis who was referred to as a “Notorious Rapist” by the police was also arrested, investigated, charged, and forwarded to the court in 2019 for raping a 12-year old girl said to be a member of his church.
Police preliminary investigation further revealed that in December 2019, he allegedly raped a 12-year old girl and escaped to an unknown destination.
In a related development, Police said they have arrested, charged, and sent to jail a 15-year-old boy identified as David Kollie for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in Bong County.
According to the police charge sheet from the County, on July 21, 2020, relatives of the survivor reported to women and children protection section of the LNP that their daughter was sexually abused by defendant David Kollie.
The survivor explaining her ordeal to the police, said on July 21, 2020, while, she was cooking, she saw Kollie coming from his house and called her for his phone. But according to her, she told him that she doesn’t want his cell phone and continued doing her work.
But defendant Kollie forcibly came and used his shirt to her mouth and forced her into her mother’s unfinished kitchen, where he allegedly raped the survivor.
