President Weah Accepts NPHIL Boss Resignation, Appoints New Board Chair At LMHRA


Following his recent decision, Liberian leader, George Manneh Weah has accepted the resignation of the head of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), Mr. Tolbert Nyenswah.

According to an Executive Mansion Release President Weah thanked Mr. Nyenswah for the time he served the people and Government of Liberia and therefore wished him well in his new endeavors.


The release indicated that pending the appointment of a new Director General of NPHIL, the Liberian Leader instructed  the Deputy Director General of the NPHIL, Dr. Mosoka P. Fallah to act as head of NPHIL with immediate effect.

Additionally, President Weah has appointed Madam Jane Amanda McCauley as  Acting Deputy Director General for Technical Affairs at NPHIL.

It can be recalled that Mr. Tolbert Nyenswah resigned recently from the NPHIL  for family reasons.
At the same time President  George Manneh Weah, has named Hasipha C. Tarpeh chairman of Liberia Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Authority (LMHRA) Board.

The appointment of Mr. Tarpeh as LMHRA Board Chairman is part of the Government’s effort to make the entity more viable and fully functional.

The President according to a release  is confident that Mr. Tarpeh and Members of the Board would transform the LMHRA and make it more serviceable to the people of Liberia.
