President Weah Dedicates New Gompa Market Structure

The Gompa Community in Ganta City, Nimba County was crowded with supporters of the CDC and residents of the county for the dedication of its newly constructed market.

The new structure that is worth US$260,000 is to accommodate over 300 marketers.

The new market building was officially dedicated by President Weah on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.

President George Weah recommitted his government’s road and market structure development to the people of Nimba County and Liberia.

President Weah also used the occasion to respond to critics who believe that his government’s focus is only on the construction of market structures.

He said, his government cannot provide supermarkets for Liberians, but will build more market structures as compared to some leading African countries.

Mr. Weah reassured Liberians that his government’s ambition is to develop the country, and is therefore appealing to his government officials to work in the interest of the Liberian people and stop listening to detractors who do not want to see the country move forward.

The Liberian leader urged critics to stop preaching divisive politics, as such an attitude causes division among the people.

Mr. Weah promised to work with the market women and also promised to build more market structures.
