Liberian leader George Weah has encouraged the people of this Country to be good tax payers.
According to him money is in Liberia but is not been given to the Government.
Speaking at the historic launch of the tax payment using Mobile Money President Weah challenged LRA not to chase people to pay taxes rather he urged them to create workable Mechanism in collecting taxes from the people of this nation.
At the same time the chief executive called on the tax house to established a cohesive relationship with the people of Liberia to ensure easy and fast access in tax payment.
The Liberian leader said one of the ways to gain economic growth is through effective and discipline tax nation.
He said the project will help E-Government improve efficiency and accountability.
The project he noted will further enhance trust in the government as well as increase revenue through technology.
Also speaking at the program was the commissioning general of the LRA Elfrieda Steward Tamba who termed the occasion as a milestone for the revenue arm of government.
The process she indicated started 2017 with the signing of agreements between the United Bank of Africa, Orange and partner USAID.
According to her Lone Star Cell mtn will join the campaign soon which she brags will help make great impact in saving money.
The initiative madam Tamba added will boast and strengthen domestic mobolization.
She used the occasion to encourage Liberians to enhance and develop tax culture across the Country.
The process according to one of the partners orange Liberia is fast, easy and convenient.
Under the initiative Business, travel, marriage, fire service taxes among others will be paid all in a move to increase revenue base to develop the pro-poor agenda.
