William VS Tubman University, College of Engineering and Technology Students are protesting due to inadequate instructors at their College over four semesters in Maryland County, Liberia.
The Students indicated that for two long they have gone without instructors to lecture several courses, something which they are claiming undermine their educational sojourn.
Frede Goe, student President of the College said, their ongoing action is aimed at drawing Government attention to meet their demands.
“We are here to showcase our plights and ensure the Government respond to us because we came here for educational purpose and we can’t sit here and allow our University spoil.
There are too many things ongoing here bro and we should be the change in society, and if we come to campus everytime and we do not learn what we suppose to learn absolutely we are waisting our time.
Let’s set the example and see what the Government can do about this, but we remain resolute and prepare.”Goe indicated.
They named the lack of professors and a Dean at the Engineering College as some lapses.
“We don’t have a Dean since our dean was sacked and there are lot of courses we have without professors and this is wrong; the University’s Adminstration headed by Dr. Wreh Wilson was written and there wasn’t any response up to now.
We are resolved and can’t withdraw our actions until the rightful thing is done.”
He said their demand are uncompromising until the school authority meet their demands.
The Students action had led to normal activities at a stand still at the University for about two days.
Meanwhile Maryland County legislative Caucus is currently in County to help remedy the situation.
The University Adminstration is yet to comment on the Student’s action as all efforts to dialogue prove fruitless.
