Qatar Delegation Visits Liberia


A high power delegation from Qatar is in Liberia as guest of the Liberian Government.

The delegation comprising Ministers and heads of other agencies of Qatar is on an assessment mission to Liberia.

According to the senior strategic planning advisor of the Qatar fund for Development Samer Frangieh their visit among other things is to do an assessment of Liberia’s development priority needs in line with national development plan.

He said series of discussions with relevant line ministries and agencies are part of line up activities of their visit.

Mr. Frangieh told his Liberian counterpart that Health and Education among others are key areas of interest of his Country.

Explaining furthering he narrated that upon their discussions with government officials here in Liberia they will take back some key recommendations with the hope of intervening very fast.

The Qatar strategic planner pointed out that they are working hard in re-establishing the relations quickly for subsequent implementation of their work.

According to him Human Development under its Qatar fund for Africa Development in the education sector is a critical milestone.

In brief response Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Henry Fahnbulleh recounted the cordial relationship between Liberia and Qatar.

He said the resumption of the diplomatic relationships since June 11 will further helped in deepening said relationship.

According to him Liberia is a post conflict Country as such development needs of Liberia are urgent.

He praised Qatar for its substantial contributions to Liberia over the period and hope for a continued endeavor for the benefit of the people of both nations.

Mr. Fahnbulleh assured his counterparts that upon full diplomatic arrangements and conclusion with the President (George Weah) the signing ceremony for the actualization of the work will begin.
