The Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC) has dissolved thirteen counties’ leaderships.
The latest action by the ruling establishment is triggered to actualize plans to recover from repeated defeats in recent senatorial and representative elections in the country.
Making the disclosure Friday, November 26, 2021, at its headquarters, CDC Chairman Mulbah Morlu said the party is making changes aimed at achieving progress as a political movement.
It is clear that the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) is suffering from numerous defeats in recent senatorial and representatives’ elections since taking state power.
The continual failure of the party to win elections since taking power continues to raise concerns among partisans and supporters, thus facilitating a new leadership approach.
CDC Chairman Morlu named two out of the fifteen counties that will not see changes in their political leadership structure.
The head of the Ruling party named Montserrado and Grand Kru as counties where their decentralized political leaderships will not be restructured.
Giving remarks at the CDC Identification Cards Program Launch, Chairman Morlu also disclosed that the party nomination and candidacy will be determined by local leaders in counties and districts.
The purpose of the party’s new tactic according to the CDC Chairman is to allow localized leaderships to provide candidates that will meet the interest of the masses in order to secure victory during elections.
“No more the party will allow only executives to determine candidates and nominees”, he stressed.
Meanwhile, the Coalition for Democratic Change, Chairman warned against defiance of partisans who will not take ID Card which he claimed is the sole authority to legitimacy as partisans, stewards, and leaders.
According to him, the ID Card will be used as a tool in identifying and giving responsibilities to leaders and partisans.
He noted that the ID card program will help the party have a database that will allow them to give accounts of partisans in every county and district.
The program which was launched on November 26, 2021, “will be a nationwide political project for the progress of the party”.
