Sinoe County District number one Representative, Crayton Oldman Duncan is expected to commence a free computer literacy program across Greenville District beginning this October.
The head of media and publicity in offices of Hon. Duncan Sagacious Gbanwulue said, the free computer literacy program is intended to give residents basic skills in computer.
He said the training will enhance the knowledge of residents in computing with the digital world, adding “computer literacy is a pre-condition in getting an employment in this modern day era.”
Mr. Gbarnwulue further stated that the training will also serve as an opportunity for self-employment for some residents.
‘’This computer literacy training is very important to everyone, especially the young people because this going to help build them up to be self-employ, because if they have those basic trainings they can be able to start their desktop publishing centres, and that is empowerment’’
The media and publicity officer added that the program will target 1, 536 students every year with 384 students per Center.
He said the training will run for three months for every cycle, with a certificate given at the end of every cycle.
Sagacious Gbarnwulue named Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and Internet navigation as some courses that will be offer at the program, stating that registrations run for the entire month of September.
The training according to him will be conducted at five different locations within the districts, he named the Butaw youth center, the Po-River youth center, Seebeh youth center and the Kabada youth center respectively.
Mr. Sagacious Gbarnwulue concluded by calling on all resident of District number one to make use of the opportunity by registering to attend the program.
