The decision was predicated upon results from the Joint Legislative Conference Committee days of consultations which brought forth a joint resolution.

The printing of the Banknotes to the tune of over $48-billion is expected to commence in this year (2021) and will be printed in three phases to include 2022 and 2024 respectively .

In addition to the current Liberian Dollars denominations to include 5,10,20,50,100 and 500; the resolution also spelled out the printing of LD $1000 (one thousand )denomination.

The Legislature in their resolution excluded 2023 from the printing period because “it will be during the general Presidential and  Legislative elections “to avoid financial or economic tension during the electoral period” the resolution document said.
