Locals in several towns in District #1 Margibi county are currently drinking from  secure facilities and are no longer fetching water from creeks following the dedication of several hand pumps in the area.

Representative Tibelrosa Summoh Tarponweh, in partnership with the Life Water International, are constructing several hand pumps in addressing the lack of safe drinking water within his constituency.

Dedicating over seven of the newly constructed hand pumps Saturday, March 6, 2021, Representative Tarponweh said, the lack of safe drinking water is one of the major problems his constituents have been facing over the years.

He further disclosed that his Office and the Life Water International are currently constructing additional hand pumps in other communities within his District.

“Life Water International and our Office have been partners for the past three years. We have constructed over 30 hand pumps in different parts of the District and are doing more. Contrary to the fact that our District is not far from Monrovia, our people have been denied from accessing safe drinking water. So, we can not sit and allow our people to suffer. We are doing this in our little ways to help our people. Water is Life”, Representative Tarponweh explained.

The Margibi Lawmaker, however, challenged the beneficiaries to wisely use the facilities.

Receiving the hand pumps, the residents of the benefiting communities lauded the Lawmaker and the Life Water International for constructing the hand pumps within their communities, describing effort as a relief.

“We want to extend our gratitude to our Lawmaker and the Life Water family for the pumps they installed here for us. Our Lawmaker has always been there for us including making sure that our community is electrified. We will continue to work with you. This is how a selfless leader works”, Mr. Jonathan Geedeh, Chairman of Diggsville Community(benefiting community) testified.

Other Towns and community that benefited from the construction of hand pumps include Foko Town, Henry Town, Kpakpa Town, Kpan Town, Garbage Town and the Brazil Community along the Marshall Highway.
