Special Flight Leaves RIA for India


Monrovia – Seventy-two Indians nationals have been repatriated from Liberia under the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM).

The government of India on Saturday offered private carriers as many as 750 flights to operate under the VBM to repatriate stranded Indians from foreign countries.

According to India Horary Counsel General to Liberia, Upjit Singh Sachdeva the 72 passengers departed Liberia via the Roberts International Airport (RIA) for New Delhi, India on board Turkish airlines, a special arranged evacuation flight on Monday, June 22.

Normal operations should have resumed at the RIA on June 21, 2020, but was extended by government as part of plans to review measures intended to keep commuters safe and prevent further COVID-19 spread .
