Support To Football Should Not Be Compromised, Says LFA VPA Sekou Konneh


Following Liberia’s 3-1 victory over Sierra Leone, the Vice President of the Liberia Football Association for Administration, Sekou Konneh has called for more support to the National Team of Liberia, the Lonestar.

According to him the game of Football is a business and support to it is very essential for future growth and improvement.

Speaking to our reporter Thursday Mr. Konneh said there should be no compromise to the support of the game in Liberia.

He said Sports which is a unifying force to Liberia should be use to promote harmony and togetherness to all.

Observing the encouraging turn-out as well as the celebrations after the match at the SKD , Mr. Konneh said in the game of Football, there is no barrier as such said spirit of reconciliation, nationalism and many others should be taken to the national scene from all spectrum.

The Liberia Football Association he noted is open to necessary support and suggestions to help improve the game of Football at all levels.

In a more disciplinary tune the LFA VPA for administration pointed out unlike in the past that they will not condone in disciplinary behavior on the part of some current players.

He said there is an ongoing investigation on a player which he did not name but noted behaved unruly on Wednesday.

“If the game must be improve than we should ensure that discipline is upheld among our players”, he added.

Mr. Konneh confirmed Liberia’s return leg on Sunday, September 8, 2019 in Freetown and called on all Liberians to grace the game in a resounding mood in order to give the team a needed motivation.

The Lone star goes to Freetown Sierra Leone in three days time with a 3-1 advantage.
