Two Diaspora Liberians Identify with Underprivileged Women after KMTV Interview

Two diaspora Liberians on Monday presented seven (7) bags of 25Kg rice and L$17,500 to seven underprivileged women mining sand for survival in Kakata, Margibi County.

The donation by Simeon David and Paye Dahn who are based in the United States comes as a result of a recent live interview conducted by KMTV on December 16, 2020.

Simeon David said the story explained by the women during the live interview was touching, thus prompting his decision to provide assistance to the women.

Mr. David further explained that the donation made it meant for the Christmas season.

Annie Tokpah speaking on behalf of the women praised Mr. David and Dahn for the kind gesture describing it as timely.

She also praised the management of KMTV Liberia for bringing them on the mainstream and allowing their voices to be heard.

“We say thank you to Mr. David and Mr. Danh. The time we receive this rice and money is very good for us, we really appreciate them and let God bless them. Thank you plenty to KMTV Liberia, I don’t know what to say but God will bless you people,” Madam Tokpah said.

Madame Tokpah and the six other women have been mining sand in the rural part of Margibi for the past two years, as they continue to struggle for survival.
