U-20 Team gets motivation as City Mayor Jefferson Koijee pledge 3,000usd to them upon victory on Saturday.

Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee has challenged Liberians to see Sports as one of the pivotal instruments to fast growth, job creation and lasting development in the Country.
According to him Sports is just not a unifying tool but very powerful instrument for transformation and reconciliation.
Mayor Koijee addressing Journalists ahead of the WAFU grand finals on Saturday against Gambia commended Chief patron of sports George Weah for providing $25,000usd to the team as a sign of motivation.
Though he did not play Football but Koijee noted that it is always good to support sports and young talents something he noted can add more flavor and encouragement to the players to do more.
As evidence of his motivation the young Mayor pledge 3,000usd to the team if they wins the tournament tomorrow.
He used the occasion to call on other government officials, businesses in Monrovia and beyond to help support the team and Sports in general.
Speaking further the MCC boss urged all employees of the city corporation to troop at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville City Saturday to cheer the under 20 team to victory.
Liberia he noted has come a long way and with the leadership of President Weah he is certain that bigger things will happen for the people of this Country.
“I was recognized and treated as king in Japan only because of football through President Weah, Koijee noted.
In brief remarks regarding his recent visit to Japan Koijee added that it was fruitful as Liberians should await to see the tangible results soon.
“I am now trying to take a new approach and that is to do more work which will produce better results for our people and less talk” , he added.
” It is time the mayor indicated that more support and attention be put to sports to the ensure Liberia produced more George Weah”,says the ruling party executive member.
In continuation of the Weah for clean City Campaign mayor Koijee told journalists that the regular exercise will begin tomorrow at the SayeTown football field and will climaxed on the old road but the major concentration will be at the fiamah market in Sinkor where Musa Bility will symbolically lift the shovel to throw the first dirt into the dump site.
He commended young people and Liberians in general for their resilience shown towards the process thus far since the inauguration.
The Catholic Release Services (CRS) will as part of the activities dedicate some toilet in the Township of West Point which was recently constructed by them.
He thanked the CRS for assisting the Government in general for providing the necessary sanitary conditions for the people of this Country.
