Following the surfacing of flooded and unknown bodies in Montserrado County with dominance of late in District Two Montserrado County, Representative Jimmy Smith has written a communication to the House’s plenary craving its timely intervention into the matter.
According to him the situation is worrisome and has some security implications and needs urgent intervention to help address the situation.
He narrated that in less than two months three unknown bodies were found on the Somalia drive community as he had to sponsor the removal of the bodies.
He termed as unprecedented the wave of killings ongoing in his district and Liberia at large by unknown people.
Explaining further he indicated that on September 14, 2019 another unknown body was discovered at the New Hope Junction and remained there until September 17, 2019, on Yesterday.
In a more disappointing note Lawmaker Smith added that the bodies normally remained in a particular area and get decay without the intervention of the Paynesville City Corporation thus posing serious health hazard to the people.
The Montserrado County District Two Representative through his communication wants the Liberia National Police, The Paynesville City Corporation and the Ministry of Health to give reason for what he called their deliberate actions that are usually leading citizens disappointed, angry and in some cases violent due to the failure on the part of the relevant authorities to take appropriate measures.
Meanwhile the communication was later send to the committees on Security and Health to look into the matter and report in one week time.
