US Assistant Secretary of State For Educational and Cultural Affairs Meets President Weah


President George Weah has extolled the United States government for her continued assistance to the developmental drive of Liberia.

Speaking Thursday when Assistant Secretary of State for educational and cultural Affairs, Marie Royce paid a courtesy visit to his office, the Liberian leader said his government remains committed to a continue collaboration with the US for the common good of the people of Liberia.

In remarks madam Royce promised the US government’s renewed commitment in strengthening further ties and collaboration of Liberia in key areas of interest for Liberia.

She named some areas of key interest such as: Culture/Tourism, Education, Gender, Youth and Sports and many others.

According to her capacity building and improving support and collaboration in other key areas will be prioritized by her government.

Madam Royce as part of her visit to Liberia is expected to also meet separately with key government line ministries and agencies to discuss further in improving their respective areas of focus.

The US government as senior traditional allies of Liberia has over the period supported as well as assisted Liberia in several key areas of interest including Education, Health, Youth Empowerment, Capacity building and infrastructure development among others.

Meanwhile, President George Weah was on Thursday accompanied in the meeting with the US Assistant Secretary of State by key heads of government’s Ministries and Agencies including: Education, Youth and Sports, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Gender, Higher Education and Ministry of State among others.
