The two notable icons of Football in Liberia as far as Football is concern historically  speaking have been a bit far part from each other due to some political divide over the period.
Moreover, their proximity many would have thought that Debbah now could be enjoying a lion share of the nation’s cake but political differences through the beauty of democracy sends the two cousins at two separate political ends.
However and as a result of the Saturday’s transparent and shocking show casing in the public at the Monrovia City Hall to the disbelieve of others, political pundits are now convicted that James Debbah’s time to play a crucial role in the CDC led Government is just a stone throw away from now.
The Chief Patron of Sports dressed in a white dominant suit marched unto the stage on Saturday evening November 2, 2019 at programs marking the 2018-2019/ Orange-Liberia Sponsored- Liberia Football Association National League Awards ceremony wearing a unique smile and his usual sense of humor, greeted the audience in a joyous mood and subsequently  stated that it is good to give honor to whom honor is due as such he (Weah)  in a loud tune called on James Debbah as a mark of recognizing him for his extraordinary performances as a player and as servant to the national team and Country in general.
“Debbah, My Cousin please come forward” ,said Dr. Weah as the crowd goes wide in shock-wave especially reflecting on whence they came during the heated political period in Liberia.
The Nation’s most celebrated star  (Debbah) hastily march to the platform dressed in a nice black coat suit as they two hugged each other for nearly a minute something many described as a new Day and a great turning point  for the both of them.

As for James Debbah who buttressed President Weah’s statement warned the current breed of players of Liberia to do more, go the extra mile as well as mustering the courage to ensure they take Liberia on the map of Football again.
“During our days, we were not supported like you guys now,, so you people need to give your all to the game, make all necessary sacrifices for the betterment of the game in the Country, they asserted.
However, they regretted on what they observed as the lack of competition among the players unlike their days, something they want to see happen in the coming new league season.
“I won the Most Valuable Player award and the highest goalscorer award in 1986 and due to competition in 1987 my cousin, Weah won it as well”, pointed out James Debbah, this we want see replicated, he encouraged the current breed of young talents across Liberia.
As the audience listened attentively to the two role module of Liberian football speak, both Weah and Debbah said it is now time for the Country to see their possible replacements but that can only happen if young players  of Liberia  put in more time to the game, be very committed, focused, disciplined and do not allow complacency to ruin their future goal in life.
The well attended LFA honoring program for the first time saw cash prizes, Smart phones and a Car given to the Most Valuable Player (Christopher Jackson) and other players, Coaches, Journalist and Referees  who performed exceptionally well during the just ended league season.
Earlier LFA President Mustapha Raji speaking at the honoring program assured the gathering that he and his team will continue to work hard to ensure the game improves under their administration on a gradual note.
He re-iterated their foremost  goal to grassroots football development, transparency and many others.
As part of their resolve in that direction the LFA recently launched the Mutamu’s under-15 youth league which brought together young talents from four Counties namely: Montserrado, Margibi, Bong and Nimba with Margibi County emerging as the winner.
On the stage of transparency and due to their clean records so far, according to President Raji, the world Football Governing Body (FIFA) has lifted the ban placed on the LFA and has given Liberia 1.5 million United States Dollars for the construction of the LFA headquarters as initial amount has been made available for the commencement of the project at the Samuel Kanyan Doe Boulevard in Paynesville which will get underway soon.
He praised national government for the support to the game in Liberia and also encouraged them to do more.
As Football including  sports a driving force to total reconciliation and with the unified style in which the  Chief Patron of Sports (Weah)  and the nation’s most celebrated star  James Debbah hugged and welcomed each other live on stage  at the Monrovia City Hall on November 2, 2019, many are certain now that the dust between the two of them has been full settled secured.
