The Monrovia City Corporation on today received Twenty Seven (27) cartons of Nowoven Face Mask from the Office the First Lady Mrs. Clar Weah.
The donation according to the Head of Social Services in the office of the First Lady Grace Tohnson is part of Madam Clar Marie Weah way of contributing to the “Weah for Clean City” campaign.
Grace Tohnson said Madam Weah understands the health risk associated with garbage disposal as such there is a need MCC Employees who are usually engage with waste disposal are protected .
Tohnson noted that the safety of every Liberian remains key to the Office of the First Lady Madam Clar Weah.
She pledged Madam Weah continuous support to the “Weah for Clean City” campaign and the Monrovia City Corporation.
Tohnson however said that the First Lady has promised to work with MCC to maintain a “Clean, Green and Safe” Monrovia.
Receiving the Twenty Seven (27) cartons of Nowoven Face Mask on behalf of the Monrovia City Corporation, Mayor Jefferson Tamba Koijee lauded the Office of the First Lady for the donation.
Mayor Koijee said the First Lady of Liberia has with time without numbers displayed that she cares for the citizens of the Country owning to her many contributions to the “Weah for Clean City” initiative and the Health sector.
He pointed out that the Monrovia City Corporation sees Madam Weah as a partner in progress and will continue to work with her in the best interest of the Country and its People.
The “Weah for Clean City” campaign was officially launched on March 4, 2018 which supported the every First Saturday clean up initiative.
Both President Weah and wife on March 4, 2018 participated in the disposal of waste .
Hundreds of supporters paraded with the Mayor of Monrovia Jefferson T. Koijee, President Weah, first lady Clar Marie Weah and ex-City Mayor Mary Broh before reaching the jam packed Rally Time Market.
President Weah flanked by Defense Minister Daniel Ziankahn, Minister of State Nathaniel McGill ,Representative Acarous Gray and others were seeing disposing a huge stockpile of dirt after Mary Broh announced a turnover of the monthly first Saturday cleanup to the new administration .
President Weah was followed by his wife Clar Weah who performed similar task to mark the official launch of the “Weah for Clean City” .
He encouraged residents of Monrovia to regularly clean their environments and help the MCC ensure the city is clean, green and safe.
