World Bank has approved additional USD 9.3 million to the Government of Liberia for the Cheesemanburg Landfill and Urban Sanitation (CLUS) Project.
The CLUS project for Liberia is to provide access to solid waste management (SWM) services in Monrovia.
The grant, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP), was
acquired by Liberia’s delegation to the World Bank through virtual negotiations.
World Bank expert for Urban Development and Resilience Unit, Farouk Mollah Banna thanked the Liberian delegation for their diligence in acquiring the grant and also conveyed his gratitude to Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah, as well as the mayors of Monrovia and Paynesville cities for their leadership in working to conclude the project.
He revealed that the signing ceremony of the grant will take place upon completion of vital documents.
