A campaigner against COVID-19 has been honored and awarded a certificate for her immense contributions to the fight against the deadly virus in Liberia.
Liberia Initiative for Empowerment (LIFE), Executive Director Ms. Humpheretta Reid, was certificated Thursday by the Young Leader of Africa (YOLEAF) – Network as their COVID-19 hero.
“Today, the Board of Directors on behalf of the Young Leader of Africa (YOLEAF) – Network bestows the YOLEAF COVID -19 HERO Honor upon Humpheretta Reid as a recognition of your services to humanity during such a critical period.”
According to the youth group, their honoree has donated of over 50,000 reusable face masks across Liberia to motor cyclists, market women, Islamic women, youth groups, Liberia Immigration Service, media institutions, churches, amongst other.
The group said due to her effort, lots of Liberians now have reusable masks; something that is greatly contributing to protecting people who could have been infected if they never had masks.
“Her aim is to ensure that each individual within Liberia have at least two (2) reusable masks each;
Bravo for the job well done, The Young Leaders of Africa are proud of you.” The group concluded.
Since the outbreak of the virus Ms. Reid through her organization LIFE has been donating free mask and educating residents of the densely populated communities and engaging , young people, marketers to always prioritize the wearing of masks.
