Youth Crusader Alex Devine, Others Captures Prestigious Award from USAID-Liberia


The Acting Executive Chairman of Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission,  Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala, has showered praises on Mr. Alex Devine, Founder and Executive Director of Youth for Change Inc, for his effort to empowering Liberian youths, promoting academic excellent and serving as mentor to youths across Liberia amongst others.

Cllr. Gbala made the assertion in a social media post following Mr. Devine’s honored and recognition bestowed on him by USAID – US Agency for International Development Liberia as Youth of the Year at their awards night on Wednesday May, 26, 2021.

He wrote,  “ I’ve always had faith in you my brother. I’ve watched you scour Liberia on motorbikes only seeking to spread knowledge and wisdom to poor rural students. I again promise you this day that greater things are bound to come your way.”

In a chat with KMTV Mr. Devine said, he was honored for such recognition and promised to continue building the capacities of Liberian youths.

Meanwhile, USAID – US Agency for International Development Liberia also recognized a sitting Representative in Liberia and a gender advocate Rosana Schaack .

The famous gender champion who has been running THINK Liberia, chairs the Liberian House of Representatives Gender and Social protection committee and was very instrumental in lobbying for the passage of the Domestic Violence Act in Liberia.

THINK Liberia is noted for protecting women and providing empowerment training, micro loans amongst others to women across Liberia and has been in existence for over fifteen years in Liberia.

Meanwhile, USAID – US Agency for International Development Liberia also awarded several others awards including, Healthcare Worker of the Year,  Teacher of the Year, Farmer of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year,  Civil Society Organization of the Year,  Environmentalist of the Year.
